We hope that at last Summer might be on the way, with the clocks going forward last week it’s got us all thinking about updating our wardrobes ready for the summer season.
Today we give you a peek of some of our summer styles that are launching today – with more to launch at the end of April.

It’s a busy time of year in store for our fitters but Maire, from Solihull has some hints on tips on getting (or giving!) that perfect gift for Valentine’s Day!

It’s that time of year again where our partners, fiancés, husbands and boyfriends are trying to find us the perfect gift for Valentine’s. How often have we all opened a beautiful lingerie set on St. Valentine’s Day and it’s been the wrong size? I thought it was about time we gave that special someone in our lives a few tips to help them picking out the perfect set this year.

Now we all know that sometimes our loved ones need some hefty hints on what to buy us so how about printing this out and leaving it somewhere they’re likely to find it to make sure you get what you want on Valentine’s Day?

Size
This is very important and I would say is the area that’s the easiest to fail at. How about taking a look in your other half’s lingerie draw when she isn’t looking, this will help you in two ways. Firstly it will help you determine the size you need to buy and secondly whether she wears the same size in each type of bra.

Style
When routing through your other half’s lingerie draw take note of what styles she likes to wear. Does she like to wear Basques or bras? Are they moulded or non-moulded? Are they sexy or delicate? Take note of what you find – you may want to play it safe and buy things similar to what she has or you might want to take a chance with something a little bit different.

Colour
You might also want to consider colour. Some women might tend to stick with more practical colours like black or white, but others might like a splash of colour. Again you might want to play it safe with her favourite colour or be daring and buy a colour she doesn’t already have.

Accessories
Some women always wear matching sets and others don’t but for a present I’d always go matching – that’s what makes the present special and thoughtful. Make sure you take note of what size the lady in your life wears to ensure you buy the right size in the bottoms. It’s also important to think about what style of bottoms she prefers and feels comfortable in- a thong, short, or brief?

Wrapping
Wrapping is essential, and all our stores offer a gift wrapping service which starts from £2.95, so no excuses for those of you who hate wrapping presents!

This week sees the launch of the new Early Spring Season. What a treat it’s turned out to be! Some of our favourite styles have been updated in new colour ways.Take the Satine for example, it was launched last year and already has proven to be very popular, with customers rewarding it with 4 and a half heart rating and is now available in 4 colourways – ivory, black, cobalt and this season we’ve introduced the scarlet version. It’s a slightly padded plunge style and goes up to J cup so for girls who thought that a padded plunge was out of their reach this one is great for you!

Another popular style is Starburst back in 2011 this was launched as the ‘Poppy’ bra and you raved about it for it’s simple unpadded plunge shape. This season it’s been updated with a ditsy starburst purple print. In spite of it being a plunge it still offers great coverage and uplift, definately one to try!

Hi everyone and welcome to my first Bravissimo Blog post!!

I’m going to be appearing as a guest blogger every now and again so thought it might be nice to introduce myself.

Where I started….

Well firstly my name is Maire and I started working for Bravissimo about eight years ago  serving customers on the shop floor.  After working for a short time I realised how unique Bravissimo was, because it cared about its customers and wanted to go that extra mile for each and every one of them.  It was the company’s passion for service and making a difference which made me want to become a fitter.

Being a fitter…

It isn’t always an easy job.  You get customers who cry with joy because you’ve found them the perfect item, but then you get customers who cry because they are so self-conscious.  You face the challenges of finding the bra that will look great under one lady’s evening dress or fitting another lady in to a practical nursing bra that will look great under her clothes.  Each customer has a personal requirement and my job, as a fitter, is about making each and every customer happy and relaxed while tailoring my service to provide what they need.  I find being a fitter an extremely rewarding job and I love making a difference to how people feel about themselves.

What happens in a fitting…

Many women seem nervous about having a fitting and although it might seem daunting, you’ll walk out feeling great and uplifted (no pun intended).   Most women who come to us for the first time are wearing the wrong bra size and its great seeing the transformation from when a customer arrive to when they leave.  Check out the ‘fit guide’ on our website to give you a little insight to how a good bra fits and to show you that it isn’t scary.

We as fitters are there to make you feel comfortable so for example if you want us to leave the room while you try each bra on that’s what we will do – just let us know what you need to make you feel at ease. We’ll tell you what we recommend but at the end of the day you’ll decide what style, shape and size you feel most comfortable in

Our popular Satine bra has now arrived in a gorgeous new cobalt blue just in time for Christmas!

The gorgeous satin feel of this bra and the fact that it goes up to a J cup has earned it 4 and a half hearts in customer reviews.

The nights are drawing in and the weather is getting colder by the day, but rather than be downhearted here at Bravissimo we’re keeping ourselves upbeat by launching our new Winter collection.

Not all parents think of a bra for their teenager daughters when pulling together the shopping list for Back to School. Normally high up the list is the blazer and school skirt or trousers.

A good fitting bra can make all that difference to the look of the uniform and the confidence of the young girl. If a girl is particularly booby why not invest in a Pepperberry shirt – shaped enough so the buttons don’t pull but in a standard high street size,  adjusted depending on how much boob room  is needed. There are a couple of white shirts currently in the pepperberry sale

A moulded seamfree T-Shirt bra is a great option for underneath a school shirt. For example Bravissimo girls rave about the comfort of the Porcelain bra by Panache as it’s seamless it gives great shape under plain shirts, tops and dresses. A moulded cup provides some modesty to ensure there’s no embarrassments.

Another consideration for school is a sports bra. Whilst this might seem like an expensive option for the uniform if high impact sports are involved it’s essential that a good fitting sports bra is worn.

There are no muscles in your boobs, and without a good sports bra they will bounce during exercise. This is not only uncomfortable, but can also lead to your boobs having less uplift in the long run.  As the bounce factor is considerably higher for women with bigger boobs, we need extra support when we exercise, for the comfort and protection of our assets!
