It feels like winter has now well and truly arrived. Having to now ask ourselves questions such as ‘do I need an umbrella?’ (With the answer most probably being ‘yes’), ‘have I got a pair of tights without a ladder in?’, ‘should I wear heels (which look the part), or stay warm and dry in boots?’
Now that the clocks have gone back, we wanted to share this yummy hot chocolate recipe with you (which of course we’ve had to taste test a number of times before recommending it!), to help you muster on through the longer and darker winter nights.
This recipe is enough for 2 servings – but who says you have to share?!
What you need:
450ml whole milk
70g of 70% cocoa chocolate, finely chopped or grated
30g of good-quality milk chocolate, finely chopped or grated
75ml single cream
Tiny pinch of ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1. Warm about 150ml of the milk in a pan over a medium heat and stir in the chocolate. Continue to stir until the chocolate has melted into the milk, then whisk in the remaining milk and the cream.
2. Continue to heat until the mixture is hot, but not boiling, then add the cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
3. Pour the mixture into your favourite mug and add any extra treats which make it perfect for you. Do you like marshmallows on top? A splash of something stronger? (Bailey’s is our choice!) Or an extra squirt of cream?
4. Wearing a loungewear top which has wire-free bra support (from Bravissimo of course!) and a pair of super soft PJ bottoms, settle down with a can’t-put-down book, or feel-good film and enjoy!
