When choosing a wedding dress style, the same rules apply as you would adopt when choosing your normal everyday outfits. So when you go on your next shopping trip, make a visit to Bravissimo a top priority, it will cut out a lot of unnecessary leg work. For those of you that don’t know, Pepperberry is a range of clothes designed especially for us, taking into consideration all of the common problems that us ladies encounter when buying clothes. You will be able to say goodbye to stretched fabric, buttons straining and gaping, tops riding up and ending up too short in the body. Our clothes are designed in standard sizes, but the clever bit is, you can buy them in Curvy, Really Curvy and Super Curvy, so there is a size to fit everyone. As we know all too well, that even if you have the same bra size as your best friend, your boobs are different shapes, so a Really Curvy may fit you and your friend may be a Super Curvy.
For a preview of what we have to offer in our autumn range from Pepperberry, have a look at some gorgeous new tops we have selected for you.
The Floral Twist Front Blouse is a pretty, casual top, it has a deep V neckline that will divide your boobs beautifully, and a V- neck will also give the impression of lengthening your torso. This top has a twisted detail at the front, which is very flattering and the print is a cute ditsy floral.
The Jersey Chiffon Trim Top, is not too low-cut but still incredibly sexy, (think less is more with this top) It has a slight sheen which makes it a perfect going out top, it is made of jersey and has a gorgeous ruching detail and chiffon trim around the neckline, and it is available in black.
The Ruched Jersey Top is pretty similar to the top above, but a more daywear option, it is available in grey marl, which is great for this autumn/winter, it is perfect for you sporty girls, but is still on trend. It has long sleeves and a panel of ruching at the front and is very roomy and super comfortable for your boobs.

Blue has been one of the colours that featured heavily in the spring/summer collections this year and will continue to be one of the trends forecasted for autumn/winter. Going into winter you will see lots of intense blues and some vibrant turquoises.

The Melody Balconette Bra by Panache in electric blue has received rave reviews, it comes in an absolutely gorgeous shade of blue, it is very soft and comfortable and we’ve been told it gives fantastic shape, whilst still being super supportive.
We are still loving the Thrill Me Bra by Curvy Kate, here at the Bravissimo office, it has that sexy burlesque feel, it is lightly padded and creates fantastic cleavage and shape and it fits like a dream. It is available in a lovely silky fabric, in azure and plum.
The Verity Bra by Pureda in cobalt is a really sophisticated and sexy bra. It is an underwired balconette bra and is a contrast of sheer fabric and pretty embroidery, but is still incredibly supportive and very flattering, again this bra has got lots of major fans.

There are many great towns and cities in Britain (outside London) that are perfect for a day’s shopping; Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Manchester, Cambridge and Brighton to name but a few. So why not indulge yourself and round up a couple of girlfriends and plan a day away? If you have children you could leave them with your partner (get him involved!). Sometimes school holidays can be more stressful and exhausting, so a break and a change of scenery to recharge your batteries will make you feel re-energized as you tackle the rest of the holidays. If you are single, just pick up the phone, your friends will be glad that someone has taken the initiave to organize something.
As its summer, let’s take a closer look at the city of Brighton and Hove on the south coast. Prince Regent made the area fashionable after his first visit in 1783; he fell in love with Brighton and went on to commission the building of The Royal Pavilion. In 1841 with the arrival of the railway, Brighton was more accessible to Londoners, it attracted many day trippers, the town was also known as a health resort, as the seawater was thought to bring many health benefits. Brighton is often known as ‘London by the Sea’, as it is just 50 minutes train journey from Victoria. Its population is made up of students from all over the world, young families and famously has a vibrant gay scene.
You will not get bored in Brighton, there is plenty to do. If you are there early enough you could have a delicious breakfast at Bill’s Produce Store (The Depot, 100 North Road), or for a traditional ‘greasy spoon’ you could go to Cafe Motu (6 Trafalgar Street), a no frills café that serves a fantastic English breakfast.
Then you could take a slow amble through the North Laines, and look at all the amazing independent shops selling vintage clothes, baby clothes, lovely homewear and beautiful jewellery. You could then book yourself in at The Treatment Rooms (New Road), a beauty salon and day spa. They offer all sorts of lovely treatments like a Swedish massage or an aromatherapy facial. You could then have a spot of lunch at Dermot O’Leary’s Fishy Fishy Seafood Brasserie (East Street).
After lunch you could pop into our Bravissimo store (North Street) and have a bra fitting from one of our experienced fitting consultants. If the sun is shining, and it usually is, there’s no better place to be. Give it a go this summer – and do pop in to our store to say hello!

If you are a friend of Bravissimo on Facebook, you will have noticed that the Bravissimo Super Fans’ event took place in London the other night. Some of our past Super Fans got together and swapped their experiences of Bravissimo and what being a Super Fan meant for them personally. I know we may have mentioned it before (once or twice), but finding the right bra really can change your life and these girls a testament to that.
One fan had her fitting over the phone, at first she wasn’t too confident, however the fitter was knowledgable and helpful and talked her through signs that she should be looking for when trying on a bra. The Bravissimo parcel arrived and as soon as she tried on her new bra, she had her eureka moment.
Some Fans had been so unhappy with their boobs that they had even considered surgery, only to find that the right bra eliminates backache, corrects posture, which in turn improves the figure, knocking a few pounds off and creating a new feeling of self confidence as a consequence. All that from a bra, can’t be bad eh!
Another Super Fan was looking for some lingerie for her wedding but was not keen on the prospect of searching the high street for something supportive but dull, until she stepped into a Bravissimo store and was shown the Hestia Basque and couldn’t believe how sexy it was, whilst still offering great support and lift.
One of our other Super Fans was introduced to Bravissimo by a friend, after she had been complaining that there was nothing out there for bigger boobed ladies apart from granny bras, she literally could not believe her eyes when she actually saw how much choice Bravissimo offered and in so many gorgeous colours and fabulous styles.
We would like to thank our wonderful Super Fans and all our Bravissimo ladies for continuing to support us and being so passionate about our brand. We hope more and more of you will continue to spread the word, so women can get the very best advice in the future. And for anyone reading this that suspects they are wearing the wrong size, remember there is tons of information on our Perfect Fit Guide on the Bravissimo website, or you can pop into one of our stores or telephone us for advice on 01926 459 859.

Once upon a time these very sexy styles were only made for our smaller boobed friends, now thankfully, you won’t miss out. Why should women lose out on style, just because they have more up top?
Bravissimo is definitely leading the way in this bigger boob lingerie revolution and we are extremely excited about some of our new styles, we hope you will love them too. The Paige Bra by Miss Mandalay is sexy and fun, it has a sheer panel for an extra touch of sassiness, a fuller cup than the normal balconette and the hot pink colour is exclusive to Bravissimo, the contrasting bright yellow lace trim, is a really great finishing touch. The matching thong is really flirty, with its two bright yellow frills and little bow.
The Thrill Me Bra by Curvy Kate, will be sure to thrill you and anyone who comes within half a mile of you. Not only does it ooze sex appeal, we have it on very good authority, that this bra is very comfortable and gives amazing uplift. The Azure/ Plum is a lovely colourway and it also comes in blushing Rasberry/Charcoal. It is lightly padded and underwired with fully adjustable shoulder straps. The matching shorts are soooo gorgeous and just to top it off; they have added suspender straps, in case they weren’t sexy enough.

As daffodils start to appear and we count down the days until the clocks go forward and British Summer Time officially begins (27th March) we’re fancying a new do to see in the new season. And boy are there some interesting styles to choose from…
- Colourful; we’ve done the statement colour look with our make-up and even worn clashing colours, or at least attempted to wear more colour with a brightly coloured handbag. But this season it’s all about making a statement with your hair colour. The dip-dye effect has been popular on the catwalk and has filtered down to the main stream with extreme versions (blonde hair with bright pink ends) and less extreme versions (brown hair with blonde highlights in the lower section of hair as opposed to starting from the roots). The most popular full head colour has to be red and we have the fabulous Christina Hendricks to thank for that! So how daring will you be?
- Frizzy crimp; a popular style on the catwalks for spring summer this look works particularly well with the season’s 70s styled hats. If you have naturally curly hair up the volume with hairspray to create a soft wispy finish. Those with straight hair will need to add volume by curling, crimping and even back combing. When worn with a hat the style can afford to be bigger and bolder than normal so that the texture is seen from underneath the brim. Finish the look with this fabulous Scoop Neck Jersey top and bootcut or flared jeans.
- Loose waves; summer style often includes laid back outfits like easy summer dresses and bo-ho styles that are perfectly accentuated by big loose curls or waves. Brunettes can even go for a few subtle highlights to distinguish the texture further.
- Undone bun; the messy up do was another hot look on the catwalk and can be easily achieved by spraying the hair and creating texture before you style. Up dos look great when a dress or top has an interesting neckline as it showcases the detail and doesn’t hide it under layers of hair. We think up dos are underrated as they keep our hair from getting in the way, and don’t require washing and styling everyday, plus this season’s relaxed styles means no need for perfection, hurray for up dos!

No, we’re not talking about some horror surgery scene á la Face Off (the film with John Travolta who swaps faces with a cop in order to fight crime). We’re talking about a fresh new make-up look especially for spring. Often we can get stuck in a bit if a rut when it comes to our make-up routine and this might not be making the most of our changing styles. Generally when transitioning from winter into spring, our clothes become lighter and brighter, so why not freshen up your make-up bag to complement this change in the seasons? There are two main trends this season; the natural look and experimentation with colour. And here’s how to do them;
Natural: a barely there natural look can be achieved by using a tinted moisturiser instead of a heavy foundation. We love tinted moisturiser as it’s very easy to apply, blends to our natural skin tone and provides just enough coverage for us to feel like we’re wearing something on our face without feeling clogged up. Add a swish of blusher and a highlighter cream or powder to the temple for a natural glow. Top tip: to finish off the look define the eyebrows with a pencil that is closest to your natural hair colour and dare to bare by leaving your eye make-up in the bag. This might be scary thought for some, however, not wearing eye make can produce a fresh and more youthful look, plus the definition of the eyebrows will help to add structure to your eyes without overdoing it.
Colourful: contrary to the natural look is the bold and bright colour trend which was popular on the catwalks for the spring season and when done right this look can have stunning results. From vibrant violet to contrasting shades of blue and orange, the key to this look is all about experimentation. The focal point of this trend is the eyes, try blending contrasting colours from the inner lid to the outer lid and add a swish of the brighter tone to the under lid to add drama to the look. To avoid looking like a girl who had raided her mother’s make-up case for the first time (or a drag queen) build your eye shadow up in layers. Start with thin subtle layers and build up the drama depending on the occasion i.e. add hints of colour for the daytime and go all out on a glam night out! If bold colours aren’t your thing then try a metallic shade and add liquid eye liner for extra oomph.
It’s important to consider your make-up palette for different outfits. For example a set of red lips will work perfectly with the Flower Print Shift Dress as the shade will pick out the red pattern in the dress and give a striking effect. When wearing bold colours though it might be advised it keep your make-up simple, our Notch Neck Shift Dress comes in a fabulous red shade, however red lips, unless perfectly matched could look too much. Therefore a softer more natural look would suit this dress, although classic dark eyes would give it more of a glamorous spin. The natural, barely there trend looks great when rocking a bo-ho outfit like the new Blue Print Maxi Dress from the Pepperberry range or to make a change from your everyday make-up routine. Get out of your make-up rut and try a fresh face for spring.

False eyelashes, smoky eyes and statement lips are all a thing of the past, making way for a minimal make-up look which once mastered will make a statement purely in its simplicity. It seems that the fashion world is finally waking up to what women really want, desirable clothes that real woman can wear, sensible yet stylish footwear (God bless the return of the kitten heel) and now easy to wear everyday make-up that makes the most of what we have naturally.
- Flawless velvety skin: this will only be achieved with the right foundation, orange tones are strictly out.
- Minimal eye make-up: this look is all about structure and definition of the face rather than statement make-up.
- Defined eyebrows: known as the frames of your face, getting the shape and colouring right is important to achieving the natural look and making the most of your features.
- Sculptured cheekbones: the key for the new season’s make-up look is having well defined cheekbones. Not only will this create an elegant shape to your face, it will also become the focal point over eyes and lips next season.
To get this flawless make-up look start with a great base. A foundation with even coverage will blend in natural colour differences in skin tone, use a moisturising foundation for easy application or go for oil free if you suffer with oil prone skin. Dust over your foundation with a light powder to create a velvety finish and remove excess powder from eyebrow and eyelid areas.
Once you are happy with the base move onto the eye area, finishing with cheeks and lips last so that make-up isn’t smudged when moving from one area to the next. A brown eyeshadow applied just into the crescent of the eye socket will create depth without being too heavy; the shades to go for are taupe, mink, and caramel depending on your skin tone. Mascara should be applied sparingly using just enough to give your lashes a lift but avoiding the clumpy look. A brown mascara will give a softer finish than black.
If you buy one new piece of make-up this season make it a decent eyebrow pencil. Defined eyebrows are just as important as defined cheekbones for enhancing what you have naturally so make sure you keep them in great shape and add definition with a pencil. An eyebrow pencil will also help you to create a more symmetrical brow by evening out natural differences in length and fullness.
And finally for the perfect cheekbones, when applying a blusher suck in your cheeks and apply just below your cheekbones, this will give a sharper finish. Go for a brown tone of blusher rather than pink for an autumnal feel. Polish next season is in keeping with the natural/neutral feel of the season so stick to browns, mauvey purples or a simple clear gloss and enjoy a more natural you this year. We love the natural look here at Bravissimo and think it’ll look great with the new season’s floral trend. Check out the early spring collection for inspiration!

So you’ve booked your summer holiday and it’s about the only thing keeping you going through the erratic British weather and what seem like endless days at work. But there is some preparation you can do now so that when your holiday does finally come around, you will feel beach ready and fabulous!
10-12 weeks – up your exercise. If you’re feeling a little sluggish at the moment and the idea of getting into a bikini fills you with horror then up the amount of exercise you do now to feel the benefits by the time you go away. By doing a little bit more each week a few weeks before you go, will result in feeling more toned, confident and beach ready, as they say, a little effort goes a long way. Pair this with keeping an eye on what you eat and you could feel slimmer and healthier in no time!
6-8 weeks – exfoliate. Revitalise your skin by regularly exfoliating before you go away. Try a body brush or exfoliating gloves for best results, this will leave your skin soft, supple and rejuvenated. You can exfoliate while you’re away too. Sand is a great natural exfoliant so when you’re on the beach you can use the natural resources to your benefit, no need to go to an expensive spa!
4 weeks – use a skin firming lotion for extra body confidence. This will give your skin extra firmness and will work hand in hand with regular exfoliating for smoother skin. Use firming lotion on thighs, bum and arms and anywhere else you want to firm up!
2 weeks – use a building self tan for that pre-holiday glow. To avoid feeling like a pale tourist when you arrive at your holiday destination, start using a building tan 2weeks before your holiday. It will give you a subtle colour whilst you work on the real thing.
1 week – Get a hair cut. Our hair can suffer from exposure to sun, sea water and humidity when holidaying somewhere hot. However, a quick trim before you go away can help avoid excessive damage.
2-3 days – get holiday nails. Treat yourself to a manicure/pedicure. Keep your hands and feet looking their best, pedicures are one of those luxuries in life that really make a lot of difference and if we’re going to be wearing our best sandals and peep toe wedges then we need great toes to match! This is also the best time to get waxed, no pain, no gain and waxing is best for keeping the hair at bay for the duration of your holiday.
Last minute – airport treats. From last minute manicures to treating yourself to a new perfume, the airport shops usually have some great last minute pampering ideas and tax free too!
