We are now a week into June, don’t they call it Flaming June? Try telling that to the passengers on The Royal Flotilla on Sunday, what a drenched state of affairs that was!
One reason why the rain is not all bad is that our gardens have never looked so good, lush and green plants and rainbows of amazing flowers. The Chelsea Flower Show have just closed their doors for another year and there were some amazing floral displays to be seen around London over the Jubilee Weekend. Coronation Street is even getting in on the act with last week’s Weatherfield in Bloom flower competition.
Bravissimo also have brand new florals to boast about, so no matter what the weather is doing outside your window, you can bring some fabulous summer florals into your lingerie drawer.
The Oh So Kimono Bra by Bravissimo is a gorgeous vibrant bra that will definitely put a smile on your face on a grey day. It is an underwired lightly padded plunge and has been designed based on the same shape as Satine, which we know has been really popular with our ladies. It is available in aqua print, which is an oriental style floral. The satin fabric ensures that it is super comfortable to wear too.
The Maisie Bra by Bravissimo in white floral is such a pretty bra and is right on trend for this summer. It is available in this fun ditsy bright floral print with bright orange lace and orange flower details. It is based on the Poppy shape and is an underwired plunge. It will offer you fantastic support and uplift all summer long.
The Oriental Bloom Bra by Bravissimo is a great everyday bra, simple and so pretty with the embroidered pink placement flowers. Our ladies will love this bra for the incredible fit, as it is firm, offers great support and is really comfortable, it will also give you a lovely rounded shape. It is available in navy & pink and it is an underwired balconette.
The Carmel Bra by Panache, available in black, is sexy with a bright floral twist. It is a stunning bra with gorgeous botanical style floral embroidery in lime, purple and turquoise. It offers a comfortable fit and will become a firm favourite this summer.
Last, but not least is the Mai Blossom Bra by Bravissimo, this bra was such a hit last year, that it’s back again in a different colourway. This set also has that oriental feel, with the warm colour contrast of red & mango, which is perfect for summer nights or holidays abroad. This bra offers great support and fit.

How was your weekend, did you have a relaxing one? Maybe you had a worthy one, if you were one of the very lovely people who ran the London Marathon for charity (well done by the way). Or were you out braving the elements and dodging the April showers? Our prediction for the week ahead is, less rain and more sun (in our heads anyway). We couldn’t do any worse then the forecasters could we?
The start of a new week also brings a lot of excitement for us here at Bravissimo as we introduce lots of new summer bits to our collection, which is online now. There is gorgeous new lingerie, swimwear and some nightwear. But because we just know the sun will shine this week, our thoughts are drifting towards summer holidays and bikinis. If you are ‘Staycationing’ like Stephen Fry wants you to in the ‘Visit Britain’ campaign, or if you are still holidaying abroad this year, you will need a bikini that makes you feel confident, sexy and the ultimate beach goddess. Who can forget those infamous shots of Dame Helen Mirren on holiday in Italy, in that red bikini a few years ago? She chose the perfect two-piece for her figure and the result was stunning, she is also in her sixties, which proves theres a bikini out there for everyone. So read on and see which bikini style is made for you…
The new Elektra Bandeau Bikini Top by Masquerade Beachwear could be seen on one of our A-list celebrities on a far flung beach. Exotic is a word that sums this two piece up perfectly. It is available in stunning Ultra Violet and has beaded and ring details. It has lightly padded cups which offers great support and shape. The bandeau top can be worn without straps for tanning without lines. The matching swim briefs also feature the ring and bead detail.
The Cannes Halterneck Bikini Top by Free is perfect if you like a touch of glamour. This will look fabulous with a tan and with the embellishment of the beads on this bikini and briefs, you will be sure to sparkle on the beach. The top also has ruched cups that allow more or less coverage, depending on your preference. It is available in White Jewel and there are matching swim tie sides or swim briefs with wider sides.
The Limbo Bikini Top by Freya comes in Amazon tribal inspired print. It is a plunge style top that goes up to a size JJ cup, it has wooden bead detailing on the bikini top and swim shorts, there are also swim briefs available with this bikini. This bikini top will create amazing cleavage and shape because of the plunge style.
And if your still not convinced that you are a bikini babe, don’t worry we will be covering tankinis and swimsuits in future blogs. For more fabulous swimwear check out Bravissimo.com

It’s the first day of the Easter weekend and with Bank Holiday Monday too, there are four full days off from work. If you were out and about last evening, you will have felt the excitement and relief in the air, as everyone is finishing their last minute errands and looking forward to some R & R at home or, frantically packing to go away on an Easter break.
Easter is great time of year; spring is here in most of country (sorry to the parts of the UK experiencing a cold snap). If the weather is mild enough to go out and about, there is plenty to do up and down Britain. If you want to indulge in some egg hunting, there are lots of Easter egg hunts taking place. One for the adults takes place on the Saturday 7th April at 11 am. The Bath Comedy Festival is hosting Arthur Smith‘s Great Easter Egg Hunt (strictly no under 14s).
For the kids …if you live near, or are on holiday in Newquay, Cornwall, on Sunday 8th at 1pm there is a free Easter egg trail on the shore, which is followed by a sandcastle building competition. The National Trust have organised 280 egg hunts all over the country, check out www.eastereggtrails.com for one nearest to you. If you are at home over the Easter Break, and the weather is on your side, a spot of gardening could be good, and great exercise for this time of year. However, if it’s too cold to go out, why not turn your hand to a bit of baking? Hot cross buns, cupcakes or something chocolaty. There are some fantastic recipes on the Internet, try searching for ‘Hummingbird chocolate cupcake recipe’ to get you started. You could even decorate the top of your cupcake with a few coloured mini eggs. If you don’t fancy any of this and it sounds like too much like hard work, just kick back, do nothing, relax and enjoy the only time of year when you can eat chocolate without anyone making you feel guilty!
And if you want the perfect accompaniment to that chocolate egg and cuppa, why not visit Bravissimo.com and browse some of our brand new lingerie styles that are just in; like the Lucy Bra by Cleo. This bra, although it looks delicate, still offers super support and great shape; it is available in this zesty lime colour, with fuchsia bows, fresh and utterly gorgeous for spring.
Happy Easter to all our Bravissimo ladies!

If you have a special someone in your life, then you might want to surreptitiously show them this latest blog. The Festive Season is approaching rapidly, and if your partner is looking to score major brownie points on Christmas morning, then some presents are clearly better than others. Here’s a list of no no’s: Pots and pans (unless it’s a posh Le Creuset), an iron (even worse, a new ironing board!), socks (especially festive socks), a kitchen bin and the old favourite – the bread maker.
However, these are some gorgeous gifts that us girls would be happy to receive; perfume (not cheap stuff), a leather handbag, a gorgeous silk nightdress, cashmere…anything, any luxurious bath soak or body lotion and lingerie (that’s where Bravissimo come in).
If you are shopping with your partner this weekend and you walk past a Bravissimo store, you might want to drop a few subtle hints…”OMG I love this place”, “If I had to show someone I really cared, I would buy them a gift from Bravissimo” or “It looks like rain, let’s just shelter in here for a few minutes…” Or, leave our page open on the computer, with a post it saying ‘Wondering what to get that wonderful woman this Christmas? My bra size is…’
The perfect Christmas gift would be the Delphi Basque by Masquerade, as it gives you the ultimate hourglass figure. It is available in black/graphite, with a wet look finish, diamante embellishment and lace. This basque is underwired and lightly padded and with clever boning and toning creates amazing shape. It is available to buy with matching briefs or a thong, which really finish off the look.
The Lola Luxe Basque by Bravissimo would be an amazing gift to receive. It is exclusive to Bravissimo and we have already had great reviews for this one. It’s our first ever basque available in a K cup. It comes in black/teal and is very pretty with the cute teal bow embroidery. It is extremely comfortable to wear and creates a gorgeous smooth silhouette. Choose either the matching briefs or thong, which are a must have with this stunning basque.
If you want to inject a bit of glamour into bedtime, then point your partner in the direction of the Ivory Silk Nightdress by Bravissimo. Available in antique ivory, it is a beautifully soft and elegant nightdress, exuding vintage glamour of old. It has an integral bra, which is wire free for comfort and a tie under the bust, which makes it very flattering too. Our Bravissimo ladies seem to really adore this nightdress.
So let’s get the word out to our poor confused husbands and partners. There’s no excuse this year lads, those Rudolph comedy socks just won’t do!

I hope all you Bravissimo girls are getting in the mood for bonfire night, it’s all about gorgeous jacket spuds, sausages, mulled wine and hearing that lovely cracking and snapping sound of the bonfire. The evening usually ends with a spectacular fireworks display, the thing about fireworks is, they only happen once a year, but they are always much more fun than we remember. It’s not only the kids that are screeching as the rockets shoot up in the air, you will probably spot some adults whooping too!
If you are going to an organised display or you are putting on a party yourself, then wrap up warm and stay safe. For our ladies that are choosing to opt out and watch Strictly or X-Factor instead, if you have a spare ten minutes, why not browse our new styles of lingerie. We have some really stunning new sets that will turn up the heat (even if you are nowhere near a bonfire) and we are taking our inspiration from November 5th and all things red hot and dazzling.
We have introduced a demi bra, which has certainly got our customers talking. The Demi Diva Bra by Bravissimo will definitely light some fires as it is a half cup with underwiring, it comes in gorgeous pillabox red and is finished off with leopard print bows in the centre and on the straps. This bra gives incredible uplift and creates amazing cleavage, but it’s still supportive. There are matching shorts or briefs available, which are very cute with ribbon tie sides. (top tip…best tied while lying down) The Demi Diva is exclusive to Bravissimo.
Another sizzling new bra, is the Bettie Mae Bra by Bravissimo. This set is available in lovely satin like fabric in coral/black, with a tiny mesh polka dot and the cups are trimmed with black lace. This bra is an underwired lightly padded plunge, which is perfect for wearing with low cut dresses or tops. The Bettie Mae bra comes with either briefs or a thong, we love the briefs, they are naughty but nice, the detail is all at the back, where the briefs are sheer with a large net bow.
Both sets are utterly gorgeous and wearing either of these will be sure to cause a few fireworks of your own. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.

Since Bravissimo hit the high streets, there have been plenty of our bras that consistently receive fantastic reviews from fans and we feel they are worth shouting about, as they seem to have made such a difference to our ladies’ lives.
These bras stand out not only because they give amazing shape and make clothes look fantastic, but also because they are still comfortable and supportive which we all know is THE winning combination.
One of our superstar bras is the best selling Alana Bra by Bravissimo. This bra has been used by the one and only Gok Wan at one of his recent roadshows and we know how he feels about finding the right bra, before you even move on to the outfit! Our in-store Bravissimo fitters love this bra and probably use it the most during fittings because of the gorgeous shape it creates, plus the super fit and support. For an everyday bra it is pretty and is available in so many colours you will be spoilt for choice. The Alana, is an underwired balconette and in sizes DD-G cups it has a 2 hook fastening and in GG-L, 3 hooks. A selection of the positive comments about The Alana, have included, “The fit is true to size”, “It creates the best shape”, “Highly recommended for everyday wear”, and “Is very, very comfortable”“.
Another one of our amazing performers is the Deco Bra by Freya, because we know how much our Bravissimo ladies rave about this bra. This gorgeous bra is now newly available in graphite, with a pretty mother of pearl button detail, this is a perfect buy for autumn. It is a moulded plunge, which is perfect for close fitting tops. It also creates fantastic cleavage, so when you want to go for a sexier look with a lower cut top, maybe for an evening out, the Deco would be a great choice. This is some of the great feedback we have received about the Deco bra, “The Deco is absolutely the best moulded bra there is”, “I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find it”, “It’s true to size, supportive and so comfortable!”, and “Fabulous fit-great cleavage”.

According to the experts, our weather is on the turn again, hopefully we haven’t seen the last of the sunshine, but for now we can make ourselves feel better by looking forward to some fabulous new fashion. If you haven’t started to look for that autumn wardrobe, now is definitely the time.
A good place to start is ‘occasion’ wear, as it gets nearer to Christmas, the shops will start filling up with Christmas occasion wear and all things glam and sexy. Sometimes when we are invited to a swanky event or a posh do, our first thought is ‘Oh no, what am I going to wear?’ Pepperberry has some stunning new styles in that are real showstoppers and because the styles are black, you can count on them being real classics that will last you more than just one season.
The jumpsuit trend has come back this autumn/winter and they are surprisingly easy to wear, no worrying about what top you are going to wear with which trousers. Jumpsuits look stylish, are a great alternative to the dress, and are bang on trend. Pepperberry’s new Jersey Wide Leg Jumpsuit will be a valuable addition to your occasion wear, if you have a smart evening event coming up, this stylish jumpsuit will be perfect. It is available in black and is made from jersey so there is no ironing needed. The top is a wrap style, with draping over the tummy area, which is really good at hiding any lumps or bumps.
Another new addition is the very sexy Satin Bodice, just like our cami’s this bodice has an integral underwired bra, so you are fully supported. The bodice is boned, comes in stretchy satin, which makes it comfortable too, it also has adjustable straps. This bodice will look stunning teamed with some tailored trousers and a tuxedo jacket or it will look super sexy with a pencil skirt, killer heels and longer suit jacket.
The new Lux Mac is another big trend this year and this fabulous mac is the perfect accompaniment for any evening dress you have. This mac has a satin sheen, so it will look great with a sequin dress or satin dress in a vibrant colour, it is very versatile so also will look great worn with a classic white shirt and tailored trousers for the office. It comes in black and can be worn with or without the belt.
Invest in these classic black evening wear options and you will never again have that heart sinking feeling when you receive that special event invite.

Spots are a very wearable trend and do a good job of injecting some fun into everyday fashion. They are easy to accessorise too, if you opt for a shirt or blouse with a printed spot, then plain trousers, jeans or a pencil skirt will look great. If you choose a spotty dress, then you have lots of options, you could choose a fitted cardigan, in a vibrant colour and match with tan boots and tan bag. Or you could wear with a blazer in denim, a suit jacket, or a belted Mac. A spotty dress is easy to dress up or down, so can be worn day or night.
If you like spots but are not too sure about throwing yourself into the trend wholeheartedly, then you could try wearing it as an accent, in the form or a scarf – try the Spotty Scarf by Pepperberry.
Or if you are still not convinced, Bravissimo have some fabulous new dotty lingerie that is utterly desirable. Check out the gorgeous Crystal Bra by Freya, if you are a fan of the deco bra, you are going to love this one, it creates amazing uplift and cleavage and will give you an enviable shape. It is available in teal, with white spot. The matching shorts are really lovely, a must if you are going to buy this bra.
Also new and exclusive from Bravissimo, is the Dotty Spotty Bra by Bravissimo, this bra is so gorgeous, it must be shown off. It has a real 50’s starlet look and is finished with the cute bow detail in the centre. It is available in two colourways, aqua/red and black/café (which is our new colour for autumn). This bra is slightly fuller than a normal balconette, but it is still a very supportive fit. This bra is available to buy with briefs or shorts, for that added cute factor, the shorts have a cheeky little pocket on the back.

Not many people could complete a challenge like that, not many of us wouldn’t want to. But it does show you, David Walliams is just a very strong swimmer, not an Olympic swimmer. Swimming is a great all round exercise and no, it’s not a good idea to take a dip in a fast flowing river, but taking up swimming in your local pool is a great idea if you want to get in shape. It’s kinder to your body, your boobs are supported by the water, so the bounce that you get when you take part in aerobic exercise is eliminated before you even start. Swimming will boost your metabolism, it firms all of your muscle groups and burns calories. And the best bit? It doesn’t put any stress on your joints as it creates weightlessness, so you can swim happily everyday without injury. Swimming can also help keep you young, research shows regular swimmers are biologically up to 20 years younger than their actual age.
So if you need any more reasons to take it up, how about Bravissimo’s brand new styles of swimwear that are in our stores now. They are so gorgeous, you will be happy parading up and down at your local poolside. The Paradise Swimsuit by Faubourg in red palm is a stunning swimsuit, the tropical print is based on the Kashmir Swimsuit from last autumn. It is underwired and very flattering with a sexy plunging neckline, it has adjustable ties at the neck, this swimsuit is exclusive to Bravissimo.
The Monroe Halter Swimsuit by Panache will look fabulous in the pool or at the beach, it has a fifties look and is on trend with its lovely polka dot print and is available in chocolate/cream. This swimsuit is super flattering and is underwired and will flatter your shape also giving great support. It has a cream panel, which sits under the bust creating a nipped in waist.
The Premier Ultimate Swimsuit by Speedo is a great sports swimsuit if you are a serious swimmer, it has a supportive built-in bra and is a very flattering fit. The fabric used is chlorine resistant and is very comfortable. We have received wonderful reviews on this swimsuit, it is available to buy in, aqua/black, black/pink and ink/pop pink.
Come on in girls, the water’s lovely.

The fashion industry had a very hard task this week. They had to carry on with the catwalk shows of New York Fashion Week and the business of fashion – which can seem frivolous at the best of times – whilst the city is remembering 9/11 and marking the 10 year anniversary of those lost. A very sad day, but the shows went on.
Victoria Beckham’s was one of the shows that took place, she has had an extra busy time of late, only just having had baby Harper, who accompanied her (of course) but she still managed to produce an accomplished collection for spring/summer 2012. Short shift dresses featured and body con fitted dresses that finish mid calf with cut away vest tops, racer backs and exposed zips. She showed parkers and voluminous kimono jackets in heavy silk satins. The collection is simple, chic with more than a look of sportswear about it.
Alexander Wang’s spring/summer collection also was inspired by sportswear, although he took his inspiration from tougher sports like Motorcross. Wang used high shine, waterproof fabrics, and leather. He also showcased the exposed zip and used chevron and monochrome prints. Peter Som’s catwalk show featured 1960s inspired tiny shorts, mini dresses and short shirt dresses. All in neons and acids brights, like citrus yellow, turquoise and bright corals. We also saw him use clashing sixties prints.
So what does all this mean in terms of lingerie for next spring/summer? Well, we can expect to be a bit more adventurous with colour, we will be seeing more neon brights and electric colours like our Melody Full Cup Bra by Panache in electric blue. We may see more large, sixties inspired floral prints, moving away from the small ditsy print of this year. There will definitely be a move towards a sportier look for bras. We are not talking about sports bras here, there will be a different sportier shape, but using gorgeous vibrant colours and prints in silky fabrics to keep that feminine look.
