Pepperberry's new Belted Maxi Dress

Pepperberry's new Belted Maxi Dress

Bravissimo ladies brace yourselves! The first few lines of the new Pepperberry Autumn collection are here. The floral theme seems to be running and running, and Pepperberry have chosen some gorgeous florals, from the ditsy small prints of the Belted Maxi Dress to the more botanical inspired flower of the Rose Belted Dress.

The maxi dress trend does not seem to be going away, but this year, unlike any other, maxi’s will be featuring in autumn/winter collections instead of just spring/summer. The Belted Maxi Dress as mentioned above, is a very stylish maxi. Fully lined, it features a cute little frill sleeve. Included with the dress is the plaited brown belt, which can be taken off if preferred. This dress would look great for autumn accessorised with brown leather riding boots and a faux sheepskin gilet for that boho look.

Another bohemian inspired dress is the Paisley Frill Dress, this dress is extremely feminine with its layered floaty look, and it has a waterfall style hem and features a detachable plaited brown belt. The dress is available in a pink and blue paisley print, and comes with a pink cami. This dress could be bought now and worn through late summer into autumn, when you could accessorise it with knee high boots and a waterfall longline cardi in a soft grey or oatmeal.

Back to florals; check out the Ditsy Frill Blouse, this is another botanical style print. A sheer blouse in greys and neutrals with delicate ruffles, makes this extra feminine. At the moment you could pair up with some shorts or a floaty skirt for a really girly look. In the autumn this will look great with a grey tailored jacket & jeans, or it could be worn to the office to soften up a suit.

The Tiered Frill Dress in coral

The Tiered Frill Dress in coral

“Going anywhere nice this weekend?” That’s the familiar line that we hear when we visit the hairdressers. Sometimes we get the opportunity to answer with a resounding “Yes, actually I am going to a show/wedding/summer ball/opera in the park” or any other event that requires a posher frock than usual. If you are attending some swanky soiree and you want to look as glamorous as an A-list celebrity without making a dent in your purse, then there is a way. Pepperberry still have some dresses in the sale that would turn a few heads.

In past blogs, we have mentioned that coral is still a big colour this and next season, well Pepperberry have two very stylish dresses in coral, the first is the Tiered Frill Dress, this is a gorgeous floaty and feminine dress in chiffon, it has a dip dyed effect, so the colour is deeper on the tiered ruffles than on the bodice. This dress puts you in mind of a wonderful sunset and it would be a great choice if dancing is part of your evening. It’s perfect for a wedding and would look spot on accessorised with a nude satin jacket and sky high nude heels.

The Coral Diamanté Shift Dress is just a WOW dress. It is in the body con Roland Mouret style that is so popular with the A-listers. The fabric is heavy satin and has added stretch, so it is extra figure hugging and comfortable too. The back features a sexy keyhole detail and there is also a lovely diamanté belt to finish off the look.

The Lace Overlay Dress is such a classic cocktail dress, it is so versatile, you will be taking this out of your wardrobe over and over again. Lace will always be fashionable, so you can’t go wrong with this one. It fits slightly small in the bust, so it would be a good idea to go up a size. Accessorise with a black satin tuxedo jacket and black satin heels, or you could introduce a bit of colour, how about fuchsia heels and fuchsia bolero jacket?

Absolute jaw dropping glamour and the best bit, the price. Have a great evening.

Time for T

The T-shirt is a hot trend for this summer, whether it’s cropped, slouchy & baggy, or one with a slogan. The T-shirt was initially created from an undergarment used in the 19th century, through cutting the one-piece “union suit” underwear into separate top and bottom garments. The T-shirt has had a long and varied history, it was worn by miners in the late 19th century, because it was perfect to be worn in hot environments. The US navy then issued them as regulation garments during the Spanish-American war. After World War II, veterans began wearing the T-shirt casually with their uniform trousers. Marlon Brando who starred in A Street Car Named Desire in the early 1950s, really made the T-shirt a cool piece of clothing and that’s when it became fashionable as outerwear. In the late 1960s the T-shirt started to be used as an art medium, decorated with bright graphics, cartoon characters and slogans. They could display a political protest, a love of a particular rock band or a souvenir of a holiday destination, like the iconic ‘I ❤ NY’. In the eighties Katherine Hamnett designed her famous outsize slogan T-shirts, like the famous CHOOSE LIFE T-shirt (worn by George Michael of Wham), and NO WAR and SAVE THE WORLD.

So if you have already found your perfect T and you are still searching for the perfect T-shirt bra to wear under it, then look no further, Bravissimo have some great bras that will create a smooth silhouette under your T-shirt. Try our Smoothing Seamfree Bra by Fantasie, it is an underwired moulded balconette, it comes in black or nude, it will become a real wardrobe favourite, as it gives great uplift, support and shape. We know there are many Deco fans out there, and lets face it, it is a great bra, the Deco Bra by Freya gives amazing cleavage, and comes in black, nude and the new colour mint, which is selling out fast. It is recommended that you go down a cup size in the Deco if you are between sizes.
The Porcelain bra by Panache is a fantastic everyday bra, it creates a lovely rounded shape and is cut higher in the cups to accommodate our bigger-boobed Bravissimo ladies, it is very comfortable and will look great under any T-shirt from the super fine to the more heavyweight option.

Another Monday morning. At this time of year many of us are counting the days and hours until we are lying on a sun-drenched beach far away from the office, the heaving supermarket, or the traffic on the school run. Holiday packing is an art these days, especially as some of the budget airlines charge you by weight for your suitcase. If you don’t want the hassle of having to unpack everything at the departure gate because your bag is on the heavy side, then read on, as this is your guide to packing your Bravissimo and Pepperberry summer holiday capsule wardrobe.

Maxi dresses can be worn day or night (changing flip flops to wedges at night and adding some great gold hooped earrings and gold bangles). See the Coral Print Maxi Dress by Bravissimo, it is a very flattering empire line and sits under the bust creating a fabulous cleavage. The next dress definitely deserves a mention, as it’s really popular with our Bravissimo ladies is the Tulip Print Chiffon Shirt Dress by Pepperberry. A lovely feminine, floral, floaty dress and can be dressed up or down. The Leaf Dress by Pepperberry, in light summery satin, is great for balmy summer nights.
