Yet another glittering awards ceremony took place recently in Los Angeles, the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. An evening that recognises and honours the television industry. There were a few predictable winners, namely hit US shows. Modern Family and Mad Men, but there was also some success for British shows and actors. The extremely popular and fast growing ITV drama Downton Abbey was a big winner as was its leading actress Dame Maggie Smith. Oscar winner Kate Winslet was honoured for her role as Mildred Pierce.
The A-List ladies were out in force and it really was a close call when it came to who really ‘wowed’ on the red carpet, but Christina Hendricks seems to exude glamour like nobody else, so hurrah! Another triumph for us big boobed girls. Her dress was by Johanna Johannsson and was a jewel encrusted sliver fitted dress with a fluted bottom, a deep-V which enhanced her wonderful cleavage and a sexy split. If she reminded us of anyone, well it was difficult to miss how much she resembled Marilyn Monroe.
The colour red was very evident at The Emmys in the fashion stakes, with actresses Lea Michele, Kate Winslet, Nina Dobrev, Adrianne Palicki and TV hosts Giuliana Rancic and Nancy O’Dell all plumping for it. None of them appeared to be ‘red faced’ that the others had turned up in the same colour, which tells us how on trend ‘the red dress’ is going to be this autumn/winter. Prepare to see the red dress popping up in stores near you and don’t be surprised if the office party at Christmas, is a blaze of red dresses. Luckily enough, Pepperberry are bringing out a red maxi dress, that will be available to buy from the 17th October. It is absolutely stunning and is very similar to the style of Christina Hendricks Emmy’s dress, but obviously in bold red. Keep your eyes peeled as it’s coming very soon and for anyone who can’t wait and wants a preview, the dress can be found on Pepperberry’s Facebook page.

You may be going to a wedding reception, or have tickets to the theatre, or you may be meeting the girls for cocktails and canapés followed by a meal at a top restaurant. Whether it’s a very special birthday, or a friend’s wedding, it will be glamorous and swanky and everyone will be dressed in their finery.
Bravissimo are here to hold your hand and point you in the right direction, look no further than Pepperberry, Bravissimo’s own clothing range. If you have worn your old faithful Pepperberry dress at previous weddings and birthdays, we have some stunning new dresses in this week, that are bang on trend and will be perfect for August and September, but will also be great for Christmas parties later in the year.
The Platinum Shift Dress, is an absolutely sensational dress and is following the bodycon trend that originated from the designer Herve Leger, who has been designing these dresses since the eighties. Later the trend was reinvented by Victoria Beckham in her first collection. This dress by Pepperberry is very flattering and will hug your curves, it is structured, which is always a better option for bigger boobs. The dress is fully lined in contrasting purple and it is available in platinum satin. It has capped sleeves and an aubergine skinny belt that is detachable. For a dramatic look you could accessorise it with purple heels, clutch bag and wrap.
The Rose Print Prom Dress, is a cutie of a dress, it takes its inspiration from the 1950s. The bodice of the dress is in jewel-like purple and the skirt is a lovely rose print with a net underskirt for that great fifties look. The waist is defined by a large purple bow, which is reversible and there are hidden tabs under the straps to keep your bra in place too. You could accessorise with black satin heels, a short satin tuxedo bolero, and a teal clutch.
There are plenty more utterly gorgeous, sexy and chic dresses in our NEW IN section online or available in our stores. So whatever your posh event this bank holiday weekend, don’t miss out, and switch on the glamour with Pepperberry.

A well-known fashion retailer has been selling a bra (like hot cakes, if you’ll excuse the pun), which increases your bust appearance by two sizes. There has been such a demand lately for bust enhancing bras, that this same retailer has now produced a bikini that does the same thing, so the store has introduced a gel-filled bikini top that will boost your assets by two cup sizes. Not since the ‘Wonderbra’ of the Eighties has there been such a desire by women to increase their bust size and also replicate the classic hourglass figure of the Fifties. Finally it is recognised that real womanly curves are something to aspire to, not hide away in baggy tops.
This new trend has been partly inspired by Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan Holloway in the American TV show Mad Men. For those of you who haven’t seen Christina, she is a vision of loveliness, a healthy size 14, real curves, big boobs, (that are not surgically enhanced) and she wears them well, (take a look at Google). Her boobs aren’t disguised, she dresses to enhance and flatter her bust at all times. She was voted the ‘sexiest woman in the world’ in 2010 in a poll of female readers taken by Esquire magazine, and Vivienne Westwood has described Hendricks as “the embodiment of beauty.” She is a great role model for Bravissimo ladies (even if she doesn’t know it yet).
To all of our wonderful Curvy, Really Curvy and Super Curvy Bravissimo ladies, we are in a very fortunate position. We have those much coveted assets for real, with no need for gel enhanced bras. So let’s help Christina put curves firmly back on the fashion map, and celebrate our boobs. We will promise to do our bit, by continuing to give you beautiful, sexy and supportive bras and Pepperberry will keep bringing you fabulous clothes designed with your boobs in mind. And if you want to follow in the style footsteps of Christina, check out these great dresses.

In past blogs, we have mentioned that coral is still a big colour this and next season, well Pepperberry have two very stylish dresses in coral, the first is the Tiered Frill Dress, this is a gorgeous floaty and feminine dress in chiffon, it has a dip dyed effect, so the colour is deeper on the tiered ruffles than on the bodice. This dress puts you in mind of a wonderful sunset and it would be a great choice if dancing is part of your evening. It’s perfect for a wedding and would look spot on accessorised with a nude satin jacket and sky high nude heels.
The Coral Diamanté Shift Dress is just a WOW dress. It is in the body con Roland Mouret style that is so popular with the A-listers. The fabric is heavy satin and has added stretch, so it is extra figure hugging and comfortable too. The back features a sexy keyhole detail and there is also a lovely diamanté belt to finish off the look.
The Lace Overlay Dress is such a classic cocktail dress, it is so versatile, you will be taking this out of your wardrobe over and over again. Lace will always be fashionable, so you can’t go wrong with this one. It fits slightly small in the bust, so it would be a good idea to go up a size. Accessorise with a black satin tuxedo jacket and black satin heels, or you could introduce a bit of colour, how about fuchsia heels and fuchsia bolero jacket?
Absolute jaw dropping glamour and the best bit, the price. Have a great evening.

We were fairly fond of ‘Our Kate’ anyway, she seems a lovely girl, down to earth and happy in her own skin. What we love about her, is that she chose to wear a high street dress for such an important occasion, which was a brave step and shows she knows her own mind. No doubt her advisors would have been urging her to use a designer, so how fantastic that our future queen is celebrating and supporting our high street. Incidentally, ‘that dress’ has now sold out in every high street in the UK.
The dress itself is a stunning, bandage, body con dress, and actually would work just as well on bigger-boobed Bravissimo girls. It is extremely versatile and can be worn as a work dress, with court shoes and a blazer or can be accessorised with gold chunky jewellery and hooped earrings for a glamorous evening look. For a similar dress you could try the Black Chevron Ponti Dress by Pepperberry.
Michelle Obama opted for a different style and wore a sweet fifties style prom dress in a damask floral silk satin by Barbara Tfank, a designer from LA. She wore it with a candy pink bolero. For a similar style dress take a look at Pepperberry’s Petal Print Dress and accessorise it with Grosgrain Tape Cardi in dusky pink.
For more gorgeous dresses just like Kate and Michelles’, keep checking the Pepperberry website, as new designs are being added regularly.

A hot topic of discussion in the Bravissimo office today, which came about because of the beautiful weather we have been having, was, ‘What exactly do us Bravissimo girls wear to work or to do the school run, in this kind of heat?’ Shorts are a tricky option, sometimes best left for boy scouts or footballers, maxi dresses are great for the beach or a summer party but can be impractical for driving or getting on and off trains, and trousers – too hot! The best option is a really easy-to-wear dress, which can be dressed up or down with a smart linen blazer or colourful cardi. And the humble dress can be accessorised in a whole host of ways, changing the look entirely.
Pepperberry, (Bravissimo’s new clothing label), has some great dresses that would definitely fit the bill. Pepperberry’s range is designed with your boobs in mind, so no more having to buy two dress sizes too big just to fit your boobs! The very easy-to wear, Ditsy Floral Dress is a great little tea dress and to go from day to night, if your having drinks after work, you could wear with leggings, ballets flats and a denim jacket (check out Pepperberry’s Stretch Denim Blazer).
One of Pepperberry’s new arrivals is the Ikat Print Dress, it’s a light cotton dress in a warm ethnic print, and the clever part is the tabs on the straps that attach to your bra. Try accessorising with Bravissimo’s Wooden Necklace and Bracelet for daytime and to glam up for a night out, accessorise with the Chain Necklace and Gold Cuff.
If you are after a very wearable jersey dress then the new Mint Swirl Dress, in a tropical floral print, could be your summer staple and it will stay looking fabulous all day long. You can accessorise with the Glass Bead Bracelet and Glass Bead Necklace in colbalt and for a cover up when it gets a bit cooler, the Deep Rib Cardigan in magenta. Also new from Pepperberry makes a great contrast with the blues of the dress, grab the lovely Tassel Slouch Bag in coral to finish off the look.

Many of us will have had the experience of being one size in one shop and a different size in another shop, this can be frustrating as it makes it difficult for us to know what size we actually are and means we always have to try things on. It seems there is no standard to high street sizing and that sizing is more of a rough guide than a set measurement.
Sizing can also depend on the type of garment. Most women won’t be exactly the same size on their bottom half as they are on their top half, which can make it especially difficult when trying to buy swimwear that is sold in co-ordinating sizes. Bigger boobed ladies also get a poor deal when it comes to buying shirts, tops and dresses. If you’ve ever had to buy a bigger size (or two) just to accommodate your ample bosom, then you know exactly what we’re talking about. It can be frustrating and somewhat disheartening having to buy a size 14 shirt, when it’s your boobs that are a size 14 and your body that is a size 10. But fear not ladies, here at Bravissimo we understand that women come in all different gorgeous shapes and sizes and so buying bigger sizes just to fit your boobs is now a thing of the past! We have a whole range of beautiful summer clothing in sizes 8 – 18, plus Bravissimo sizes of curvy, really curvy and super curvy dependent on your cup size. This way you get the perfect fit all round and don’t have to compromise on style.
Here’s a quick guide to Bravissimo sizing;
D – E cup: your normal size and ‘curvy’
F – G cup: your normal size and ‘really curvy’
GG+ cup: your normal size and ‘super curvy’

If you’re fed up with shirts not buttoning up and regularly have to go up a dress size just to get something to fit over your boobs then check out our clothing range. We give extra room in the bust area in all of our styles, helping you to find the perfect fit and with every thing from day time tops to all out evening glamour we have something for every occasion! Bravissimo sizes are based on standard high street sizes (8-18) and then your “curvy” size. So if your normal high street size was a size 12 (this applies to waist and hips and excludes boobs) and you wear a F cup bra we’d recommend going for a size 12 really curvy. Why not try some of these latest trends for size and keep up with some of our fashion idols.
A smart trench is easily transferable from day to evening. Take a leaf out of Charlize Theron’s style book and wear
yours with cute heels. Our own trench coat comes in a choice of navy or stone and the extra room in the bust means you will be able to wear it fully buttoned up without it being too big everywhere else!
Add some colour to your wardrobe with a brightly coloured and ultra flattering V-neck top. This shape is great for giving your boobs a boost and making the most of what you’ve got. Plus the bright spice colour is on trend for spring and is sure to brighten up your day!

Did you know that by wearing the right size bra, your boobs are placed where they should be, your waist is defined and this can result in dropping a whole dress size?
So many women are wearing the wrong size bra, by wearing the wrong size your boobs are not properly supported and this can be very uncomfortable and involve lots of hoiking up of the straps and readjusting throughout the day. Also, if the back size of your bra is too big, your boobs can fall much lower than they should be, this can cause problems when trying to find the right clothing size.
At Bravissimo, we don’t use tape measures as we acknowledge the fact that boobs come in all different shapes, sizes and that the volume of the boobs can also vary greatly. Our bra fitters have the experience to know a good fit and how to tell if you’re wearing the wrong size. Our bra fitting appointments are one on one, that way you get our full attention and we help you to find your correct size. And remember, the girls have been there before themselves, so there’s no need to feel nervous. We also understand that some of us can feel a little embarrassed about the size of our boobs, but there’s nothing more uplifting than a properly fitting, comfortable bra that you can wear all day, the size is just a number.
