We are now a week into June, don’t they call it Flaming June? Try telling that to the passengers on The Royal Flotilla on Sunday, what a drenched state of affairs that was!
One reason why the rain is not all bad is that our gardens have never looked so good, lush and green plants and rainbows of amazing flowers. The Chelsea Flower Show have just closed their doors for another year and there were some amazing floral displays to be seen around London over the Jubilee Weekend. Coronation Street is even getting in on the act with last week’s Weatherfield in Bloom flower competition.
Bravissimo also have brand new florals to boast about, so no matter what the weather is doing outside your window, you can bring some fabulous summer florals into your lingerie drawer.
The Oh So Kimono Bra by Bravissimo is a gorgeous vibrant bra that will definitely put a smile on your face on a grey day. It is an underwired lightly padded plunge and has been designed based on the same shape as Satine, which we know has been really popular with our ladies. It is available in aqua print, which is an oriental style floral. The satin fabric ensures that it is super comfortable to wear too.
The Maisie Bra by Bravissimo in white floral is such a pretty bra and is right on trend for this summer. It is available in this fun ditsy bright floral print with bright orange lace and orange flower details. It is based on the Poppy shape and is an underwired plunge. It will offer you fantastic support and uplift all summer long.
The Oriental Bloom Bra by Bravissimo is a great everyday bra, simple and so pretty with the embroidered pink placement flowers. Our ladies will love this bra for the incredible fit, as it is firm, offers great support and is really comfortable, it will also give you a lovely rounded shape. It is available in navy & pink and it is an underwired balconette.
The Carmel Bra by Panache, available in black, is sexy with a bright floral twist. It is a stunning bra with gorgeous botanical style floral embroidery in lime, purple and turquoise. It offers a comfortable fit and will become a firm favourite this summer.
Last, but not least is the Mai Blossom Bra by Bravissimo, this bra was such a hit last year, that it’s back again in a different colourway. This set also has that oriental feel, with the warm colour contrast of red & mango, which is perfect for summer nights or holidays abroad. This bra offers great support and fit.

We know its tippng down outside, so we will have to try very hard to picture ‘summer’. If you have hit the high street recently you will have spied a few trends which are sure to be big in the coming months; mouth-watering sorbet colours, bold florals and paisley.
It is one thing seeing these trends on the catwalk, or on our A-list celebs in fashion magazines, but you may find yourself wondering how you are going to shop with these trends in mind, as you might not fancy buying a paisley pair of trousers, or lemon coloured dress. But one way you can bring these trends into your life very easily, is through your lingerie. Luckily Bravissimo have covered the major trends and translated them to great sets, inspired by this year’s spring/summer collections.
Catwalk Trends For Spring/Summer 2012
Florals are big, brave and bold, with lots of combinations of varied and clashing colours. Wear them from head to toe for a maximum impact. The fifties vintage look and seventies ‘large & loud’ florals are here to stay. For a gorgeous floral set with real flower power, check out the Ellie Bra by Cleo. This bra is based on the Juna shape, which we know our Bravissimo ladies love, as it creates fabulous shape and uplift. It is a half-cup, lightly padded and is available in a vivid abstract floral print of different blues, which is contrasted with gorgeous pink lace trim.
Sorbet… Some of the colours on the catwalk this spring/summer look good enough to eat. Lemon, peach, aqua, mint, and pinks feature. The way to wear them is together is try a pale pink jacket with mint trousers or a colour block geometric shift dress, in two different shades of sorbet. Take a look at our gorgeous Tango Plunge Bra by Panache. Available in tutti frutti, it is an underwired plunge, which is the perfect bra for a lower cut top. One Bravissimo customer comments that, “It is comfortable and discrete and very true to size”.
Paisley… It was only a matter of time until paisley came back round again. Stella McCartney and Paul Smith both used it in their collections, it is seen on the catwalks as an all-over print. Trousers and top worn together in a pyjama style (which is not for the fainthearted) as it’s a hard look to carry off. Translated to the high street, paisley works perfectly as floaty summer dress. Why not check out our striking paisley bra, the Alexa Bra by Cleo. We have had really fantastic reviews for this bra, our reviewers say “This bra is amazing, the fit, support and shape are brilliant” “Gives amazing cleavage” It is an underwired balconette and is available in a fabulous teal print. So treat yourself, if you want to bring some Boho to your bra drawer.
We have yet more new summer styles available this coming Monday. So check the website to see more like this!

The maxi dress trend does not seem to be going away, but this year, unlike any other, maxi’s will be featuring in autumn/winter collections instead of just spring/summer. The Belted Maxi Dress as mentioned above, is a very stylish maxi. Fully lined, it features a cute little frill sleeve. Included with the dress is the plaited brown belt, which can be taken off if preferred. This dress would look great for autumn accessorised with brown leather riding boots and a faux sheepskin gilet for that boho look.
Another bohemian inspired dress is the Paisley Frill Dress, this dress is extremely feminine with its layered floaty look, and it has a waterfall style hem and features a detachable plaited brown belt. The dress is available in a pink and blue paisley print, and comes with a pink cami. This dress could be bought now and worn through late summer into autumn, when you could accessorise it with knee high boots and a waterfall longline cardi in a soft grey or oatmeal.
Back to florals; check out the Ditsy Frill Blouse, this is another botanical style print. A sheer blouse in greys and neutrals with delicate ruffles, makes this extra feminine. At the moment you could pair up with some shorts or a floaty skirt for a really girly look. In the autumn this will look great with a grey tailored jacket & jeans, or it could be worn to the office to soften up a suit.

Summer just wouldn’t be summer without floral prints. Despite their girlie girl image, prints with a flower theme don’t have to be so. Floral prints can be sexy and sophisticated as well as cute and girlie. Give florals an edge by wearing your floaty floral dress with a leather or denim jacket and tough boots. Or dress your look up with heels and a sexy clutch bag.
For the boho look wear your flirty floral prints with light wash denim, a waist coat or jacket over a dress will make the look more casual. Accessorise with tasselled bags, shoes and a panama hat for ultimate boho chic. You can also add a hit of flower power by wearing floral accessories. Add floral shoes, bags and scarves to an outfit for an instant summer lift. We’ve also fallen for the appeal of a pretty floral print and have some great lingerie and clothing with a floral theme to brighten up your summer wardrobe. The Frances bra by Cleo comes in a soft lilac floral print and is dainty in appearance but won’t let down with its incredible support. Get the Hawaiian feeling with our Pretty Young Thing bikini, its bright floral print and halterneck style are ultra flattering and perfect for the beach. We also have the Moon Flower bikini with lightly padded cups and tie side detailing on the briefs for a fun and funky look.
The Classic Floral dress is a great example of how florals can look sophisticated. This dress has cross over detailing on the front and back and is nipped in at the waist to create a great flattering shape, perfect for weddings, summer parties or a glamorous dinner date. Proof that shift dresses don’t have to be limited to the office comes in the form of this gorgeous Fancy Floral Frock. It’s THE perfect summer dress. And if you just can’t get enough flower power, we even have floral pyjama bottoms so you can wear florals from day time to evening, on the beach and through the night too!
