Fifteen days into the 2012 and it’s finally starting to feel like winter. Biting crisp air, frost on the ground, sludgy grey afternoons and dark evenings. You ladies will no doubt be thinking about wrapping up in thick knitted jumpers and keeping warm, not stripping off. However, the stunning new sets that have just come in to Bravissimo, may persuade you otherwise. There are some beautiful designs that you just won’t be able to resist. January is a great time to clear out your underwear drawer and get rid of that stray odd sock that’s been staring at you for a year, those grey and faded bras and all those bras that are the clearly the wrong size (that is, before you saw the light and were fitted by Bravissimo).

Rococo Charm Bra

Here’s a small selection of some of our sensational luxurious sets…

The Rococo Charm Bra by Bravissimo available in black/pistachio, is a gorgeous set, it is an underwired half-cup, decorated with a delicate black embroidery detail. It creates amazing uplift and shape. There are matching briefs and thong and for the added ‘ooh la la’ there are suspenders available too.

Moulin Rose Bra

The Moulin Rose Bra by Bravissimo is another drop dead sexy set. It is a lightly padded half-cup bra, which creates a beautiful rounded shape. It comes in a lace print, which gives it a very on trend feel. The trim is a combination of black lace and a gorgeous fuchsia velvet trim, which gives it an opulent feel. It is available to buy with a matching thong or all over printed shorts.
Elodie Bra by Fantasie

Last but not least there is the Elodie Bra by Fantasie in cappuccino, it is pretty but still sexy. It is an underwired balconette and uses gorgeous delicate embroidery on the lower half of the cup, combined with a sheer fabric on the top half of the cup. We have raved about this one before, because it gives incredible shape by using a side seam detail, it pulls you in and pushes you forward. The cup itself is slightly fuller, which makes it extra supportive.

So to beat those grey days, why not add a bit of luxury into your lingerie drawer this January?

Looking back, looking forward – part 2

As we bid farewell to 2010 we take a look at the best bits from the past year and what we have to look forward to in 2011.

  • The Royal wedding – will definitely be a highlight of the year. However, there were two royal engagements last year as Zara Phillips accepts a marriage proposal from her rugby star boyfriend Mike Tindall. The pairs’ low key engagement and casual engagement pictures were a million miles away from Prince William and Kate’s high profile engagement hoo-ha. Two very different couples, two very different proposals but we’re equally happy for the both of them and can’t wait to nosey at dresses, guests and venues!
  • Great films – we can’t wait for the release of Black Swan starring Natalie Portman and there’s also The King’s Speech, Never Let Me Go and the new Disney film Tangled to look forward to. Next year is also the year for sequels; Pirates Of The Caribbean, Hangover 2, X – Men, Transformers, Harry Potter, Cars 2, Twilight, Mission Impossible, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Sherlock Holmes 2, phew!
  • Spring – after a long cold winter we’re eagerly anticipating the warmer, milder months of spring and longing for hot summer days.
  • New fashion – it’s tricky to look good when you’re battling the elements so one thing we’re really looking forward to are new fashion trends that we can wear without worrying about snow, ice and other obstacles that go hand in hand with the winter months!
  • Carrying out and sticking to our New Year resolutions, we’ve made ours more fun this year so plan on sticking to them!
  • The Take That tour!!
  • More from Mad Men.
  • Sporting fever – in the run up the 2012 Olympics, if ever there was a time to try a new sport now is the time to do it! Don’t forget the sports bras!
  • Gadgets galore – 3D TV, new phones and generally more gizmos and gadgets than you can shake an I-Phone at!
  • Festival season – we have out straw hats at the ready for more mud, music and magical festival outfits!

Wishing all of our gorgeous Bravissimo girls a happy 2011!

Looking back, looking forward – part 1

As we bid farewell to 2010 we take a look at the best bits from the past year and what we have to look forward to in 2011.

  • It was a very cold start to the year with temperatures dropping to -22ºC and plenty of snow, something we’ve been reminded off in the last few weeks of the year.
  • Musician and singer Jamie Cullum proposed to model girl friend Sophie Dahl, we think he must have stood up, if he’d have dropped to one knee Sophie might have missed it!
  • In February it was the girls that ruled at the Brits with the likes of Florence Welch, Lily Allen, Ellie Goulding and Lady Gaga scooping the major awards, girl power!
  • In April you were lucky if you get away on your spring jollies with all the volcanic ash in the air.
  • Sex And The City 2 brightened up our May with the fab foursome back for more glamorous gallivanting.
  • Comic favourite David Walliams ties the knot with model girlfriend Lara Stone, note to men; apparently to bag a model girl you need to be a short musician or a tall comedian!
  • Politics, politics and more politics. We won’t re-cap on this, we think we had enough of it the first time round.
  • Christina Hendricks, the Mad Men star made curves sexy and acceptable, about time too!
  • The last Big Brother, you either loved it or hated it, but now it is gone forever, so rejoice or commiserate accordingly.
  • 2010 was the year of love in celeb land as Katy Perry managed to tame wild child Russell Brand and put a ring on it in November.

A royal engagement, Prince William finally pops the question to long term girlfriend Kate Middleton; we can’t wait for the wedding! Getting married next year? Did you know we do also do bridal lingerie and swimwear so you can look and feel your best on the big day and be full of poolside confidence on your honeymoon!
