Oh how we love the weekend, two full days away from work (apologies, if you are one of the many that have to work this weekend, but this is relevant to you too, so keep reading). If you are planning a shopping trip, you may come home a bit disappointed, with cries of “It’s just so summery, I couldn’t find anything…”
It’s not just you so don’t worry. It’s that tricky time of the year between winter and spring. Americans call it ‘Transition’, we just call it ‘Difficult’. We never know quite what to pick from our wardrobes or buy from the shops. Even though the crocuses are popping up and we may have seen the last of the arctic weather, there is still a nip in the air and we need to dress accordingly.
Pepperberry, our clothing brand, are on hand to bring you our essential guide to dressing for ‘right now’. We have selected some of the best pieces from our current collection that will look great whether you are working all weekend or whether you are out and about.
Biker Jackets are a classic, a great investment and will never date. Pepperberry’s Leather Jacket is a jacket that you will never want to part with and it is also perfect for this time of year. This one has ribbed panels at the sides, so it will stretch and fit perfectly over your boobs. The two rows of statement buttons give it a military feel. This jacket will look great with skinny jeans, a bodycon dress, or pencil skirt.
The Printed Cardigan is the perfect spring buy, available in a floral print, it has an extra wide ribbing which will create a lovely nipped in waist. The Printed Cardigan looks great buttoned up with indigo bootcut jeans or with skinny jeans. Try it with our Coloured Skinny Jeans in camel or navy or with the Drape Capped Sleeve Dress, as shown.
The Blue Stripe Shirt is a classic tailored shirt, with a pin tuck detail running down the front. Pastels are big news this spring and the pale blue pinstripe follows this trend. This shirt looks great with skinny jeans and knee high boots, add a blazer and a scarf and you have a great spring look.
The Big Button Coatigan is a great buy at this time of year, the current weather is not cold enough for a big thick coat, so the Coatigan is a perfect solution. It is available in navy, it has super flattering ribbed detailing down the sides and around the waist, ceramic buttons and it is fully lined in a contrast colour. A great cover up for spring.

Well low and behold, just when we were all getting used to the bitter winds and wet days, we get two beautiful warm (very nearly balmy) days back to back. There hasn’t been a warm spell like this in February since 1989.
The warmer weather made people hunt for the waterproof picnic rug in the garage, head for their nearest park and discard their coats. There are rumours some were even brave enough to go without tights! The warmer weather definitely put a spring in the nation’s step and our outfit choices may have been a bit brighter, lighter and more spring like then usual. Even the lingerie we chose reflected the sunnier weather. Maybe you bypassed your usual blacks or neutrals and opted for something bright and beautiful. So if your lingerie drawer is looking more winter than spring, you might want to introduce some pretty prints and some mouthwatering hues from Bravissimo. We have some fabulous lingerie sets and some brand new additions available now. There’s no better time to spring into action and give your lingerie a makeover.
The Paige Bra by Miss Mandalay is back and now available in delicious violet/aqua for spring. This set is partly sheer and certainly has the cute factor with its contrasting trims and bows and frills, this set is so pretty that you will want to show it off. The bra is an underwired balconette, creates a gorgeous shape but still offers fantastic support. This bra comes with matching briefs or a matching thong, which is absolutely adorable.
This really pretty and feminine Ditsy Blossom Bra by Bravissimo will immediately make you feel like it really is spring. The tiny floral print is contrasted with delicate embroidery and organza bows. It is a underwired balconette and again, offers great support and comfort. It is available in navy/print and comes with matching briefs or thong.
The Sherbet Stripe Bra by Bravissimo is a perfect spring bra, available in gorgeous candy stripe print in violet, which is a much softer colourway for spring. The stripes are contrasted with orange lace and mint bows finish off this set. This bra is an underwired balconette and creates a lovely rounded shape. We have had great reviews for this bra, for its comfort and support. There are matching briefs and a thong to buy too.

As we bid farewell to March and welcome April with open arms (crikey 2010 is going fast) we are finally turning our minds into spring mode. We’re busy planning our spring wardrobes (and actually wearing some of it), thinking about Easter breaks away and considering after work drinks instead of heading straight home in the dark. The latter is probably the thing we’re most excited about, having a social life after work and leaving the office before it gets dark! So even though we’re not too happy about having lost an hour of our weekend we are very grateful for the lighter evenings. The weather however is sure to fluctuate, in typical April shower style, as it has begun to already. Bright sunshine in the morning fools us into thinking it might actually be a nice day. But then the rain comes in the afternoon, leaving us stranded (wherever we may have decided to venture, in what was previously such a lovely day) wondering how the heck are we going to get home without ruining our new pumps/handbag/hair do?!
But after spring comes summer. We’re also getting increasingly excited at the prospect of summer and have started planning what we want to do with our summers, namely; BBQs despite the British weather, picnics, trips to the beach etc. As well as becoming excited for what we want to do over summer, we’re also getting impatient for our summer wardrobes and are desperate to be wearing linen trousers, cotton dresses (without thick tights and boots) and sandals sometime soon!
So make this April fool proof. Get the brolly out, wrap up in plenty of layers and prepare for the inevitable showers and pranks!

Pink is back but this time it’s all about having pink shades for your make-up rather than for your wardrobe. Although spring is just around the corner, we’re not quite ready for spring clothing yet, even if it is starting to appear in the shops, the amount of snow we’ve had has resulted in people piling on as many layers as possible. We may be reluctant to make our wardrobes more spring like, but we can brighten up our make-up with some fresh colours to lighten up our mood instead!
Pink shades in nail polish, lipsticks, blushers and eye shadows allow you to brighten up your look and feel fresh as a spring daisy whilst still wearing your winter layers! Wearing a matt bubble gum pink nail polish just makes us feel happy that the weather will soon be warming up and makes us look forward to summer, sandals and BBQs again! Matt or shimmery pink lips are a fresh change from the deep red lips we’ve worn over winter. A good blusher with pink over tones and a hint of shimmer will help to add some colour to our rather pasty white faces and a stroke of pink eye shadow will help us to see la vie en rose!
